Author Guidelines

English Guidelines

  • The article must be written in English, single-spaced, in two columns, and between 3,500–8,000 words (excluding the title, author’s name and affiliation, abstract, and references).
  • The author’s name should not appear in the manuscript but must be entered in the metadata section on the Open Journal System (OJS) website.
  • Authors must also complete their profile on the OJS website, including Given Name, Family Name (if the author has only one name, enter it in both fields), Affiliation (University/Institution), and the complete affiliation address: Study Program, Department, Faculty/School, University, City, Country, and Postal Code.
  • Authors must follow this template: The article template in English // The article template in Bahasa Indonesia.
  • The article must include the following sections: TITLE, ABSTRACT, INTRODUCTION, METHODS, RESULTS AND DISCUSSION, CONCLUSIONS, ACKNOWLEDGMENTS (if any), and REFERENCES

TITLE: The title should clearly reflect the article’s content and attract academic readers. It should consist of 8-12 words, excluding definite (the) and indefinite articles (a, an). Use phrases rather than full sentences

ABSTRACT: The abstract summarizes the article, covering the research objective, methods, findings, and originality. It may also include implications or recommendations. The abstract should be 200-250 words, written clearly and concisely in a single paragraph, without lengthy background information, citations, or references to figures, tables, equations, or bibliographies

KEYWORDS: Provide 3-5 keywords representing key concepts from the title, abstract, or main text

INTRODUCTION: The introduction outlines existing knowledge, highlights the study’s significance, presents a literature review, and states the research objective. It must reference relevant journal articles to establish the research gap and demonstrate the study’s novelty

METHODS: This section should clearly describe the research design, provide replicable procedures, and explain how data were collected, summarized, and analyzed

RESULTS AND DISCUSSIONS: Results should objectively present key findings using text, tables, and figures. Each result starts with text highlighting key points, followed by appropriate tables or figures. Tables must not be screenshots and should have at least two rows and columns, presenting specific numerical values. Figures must be clear and submitted as supplementary files, showing trends, patterns, and relationships. Authors must explain how data validity and reliability were ensured

The discussion interprets results in relation to existing knowledge, explains new insights gained, and connects back to the Introduction, demonstrating the study’s contribution to knowledge and society

CONCLUSIONS: Conclusions summarize answers to the research questions and suggest opportunities for future research

ACKNOWLEDGMENTS (If any): Acknowledge sources of funding and individuals or institutions who provided significant contributions, including external reviewers

REFERENCES: At least 80% of the references must come from relevant and recent primary sources (journal or conference articles from the last five years). References must follow APA style and be managed using reference management software (e.g., Mendeley, Zotero).

Refer to https://www.apastyle.org for guidelines on APA style for in-text citations and references. However, ICJ applies certain adjustments to fit its requirements. Below is a quick reference guide with sample citations and references, provided solely for illustrative purposes. These examples are randomly selected from various sources and do not reflect endorsements, advertisements, or the views of the Editorial Board.

Gunakan frasa, bukan kalimat lengkap.
