Authorship and Contributorship

Authorship and Contributorship Statement

IJVCDC upholds transparency and accountability in the attribution of scholarly work. Authorship should reflect individuals who have made significant contributions to the conception, design, execution, or interpretation of the reported study.

1. Criteria for Authorship
An individual qualifies as an author only if they meet all the following criteria:

  • Substantial contributions to the conception or design of the work; or the acquisition, analysis, or interpretation of data.

  • Drafting the work or revising it critically for important intellectual content.

  • Final approval of the version to be published.

  • Agreement to be accountable for all aspects of the work, ensuring that questions related to the accuracy or integrity of any part of the work are appropriately investigated and resolved.

2. Order of Authorship
The order of authors should be determined jointly by all co-authors before submission and should reflect the relative contributions of each individual. Any changes to authorship (addition, removal, or rearrangement) after submission must be approved by all authors and justified in writing to the editorial office.

3. Contributorship
Contributors who do not meet the authorship criteria but have provided support (e.g., technical help, writing assistance, general supervision) should be acknowledged in the “Acknowledgements” section, with a clear description of their contribution.

4. Group Authorship
If a research group is listed as an author, one or more individuals should take responsibility for the integrity of the work as a whole, and the group name must be clearly defined. Individual contributors should be named and their specific roles described.

5. Corresponding Author Responsibilities
The corresponding author is responsible for:

  • Ensuring that all listed authors have seen and approved the manuscript.

  • Managing communication between the journal and all co-authors during submission, peer review, and publication.

  • Responding to post-publication inquiries and ensuring data integrity.
